Rules of Participation in the Contest
"Marodi – 33 Years"



Article 1: General Provisions

1.1. The organizer of the contest "Marodi – 33 Years" (hereinafter referred to as the "Contest") is Marodi d.o.o., Gospodarska ul. 5, 40305 Nedelišće, OIB: 28972867079 (hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer").

1.2. This Contest is not a prize draw within the meaning of Articles 2 and 3 of the Regulation on the Organization of Prize Draws (Official Gazette 8/2010), in relation to Article 69 of the Gambling Act (Official Gazette 87/2009, 35/2013, 158/2013, 41/2014, 143/2014).

1.3. These contest rules (hereinafter referred to as the "Rules") will be published and accessible via a link in the contest announcement posted on the official Marodi Facebook profile (facebook.com/maroditjestenina), in the bio of the official Instagram profile (https://www.instagram.com/marodihr/), and on the website (www.marodi.com) (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Profile").

1.4. By participating in the Contest, the Participant (as defined in Article 3, Paragraph 3.1) fully accepts these Rules.

Article 2: Duration and Purpose of the Contest

2.1. The Contest is organized to promote the Organizer's products.

2.2. The Contest begins on May 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM and ends on May 11, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

Article 3: Right to Participate

3.1. All natural persons of legal age residing in the Republic of Croatia who have an active Facebook or Instagram profile are eligible to participate (hereinafter referred to as "Participant(s)").

3.2. Individuals involved in organizing the Contest, employees of the Organizer, and their immediate family members (parents, spouses, children, siblings) are not eligible to participate.

Article 4: How to Participate

4.1. To participate, a Participant must post a comment under the Organizer's contest post (published on the Profile between May 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM and May 11, 2025, at 11:59 PM), describing a personal recipe they would like to pass down through generations (hereinafter referred to as "Comment"). Only one Comment per Participant is allowed. The ten most creative submissions—five from Instagram and five from Facebook—will receive the following prize:

A pasta package containing: Fuži, Spaghetti No. 5, Green Tagliatelle, Thin Carrot Noodles, Chifferini Rigati, Alfabeto, Fettuccine, Maccheroni, and Šurlice.

4.2. All valid entries received during the contest period will be considered.

4.3. The following will not be considered:

  • Comments that do not include a family heirloom recipe;

  • Comments containing inappropriate or offensive content;

  • Comments suspected of infringing third-party rights (see clause 4.7).

4.4. Incorrect or incomplete entries are invalid and will not be eligible for a prize. Such Participants are considered to have violated the Rules, and the Organizer may disqualify them at any time.

4.5. The Organizer may remove any Comment and disqualify any Participant (including Winners) who violates laws, these Rules, ethical norms, or harms the Organizer’s reputation or interests—especially in the case of suspected fraud or third-party rights claims.

4.6. The Organizer is not liable for ordinary negligence.

4.7. If a third party claims that a Comment violates their rights (e.g., privacy, personal data, intellectual property), the respective Participant shall fully compensate the Organizer for all damages, including fines, legal fees, and compensation.

Article 5: Prize Pool, Winner Selection, and Prizes

5.1. The total prize value is €223.01.

5.2. A jury consisting of three Organizer employees will select ten (10) most creative submissions.

5.3. At the end of the Contest, the Organizer will select ten winning Comments (five from Facebook and five from Instagram) that most creatively present a recipe meant to be passed on through generations (hereinafter referred to as the "Winner(s)").

5.4. Each Winner will receive one Marodi pasta package (the “Prize”).

5.5. One Winner can receive only one Prize.

5.6. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.

Article 6: Prize Notification and Delivery

6.1. The Organizer will notify Winners by replying to the winning Comment within five (5) days after the Contest ends and will ask them to contact the Organizer within two (2) days via Facebook message or Instagram DM. Further prize delivery details will be provided directly. If the Winner does not respond, the prize will be forfeited.

6.2. The Prize will be sent to the address provided by the Winner, who must confirm their identity upon delivery with a valid photo ID.

6.3. The Organizer’s obligations end once the Prize is delivered.

Article 7: Intellectual Property Rights

7.1. All content on the Organizer’s websites and social media (hereinafter referred to as “Materials”) may be protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. These Materials are for personal, non-commercial use only and may not be reproduced or distributed without prior consent from the Organizer.

7.2. By submitting a Comment, the Participant guarantees that they hold all rights to it (including copyrights) and grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, time- and territory-unlimited right to use it free of charge, with or without attribution, exclusively for purposes related to this Contest.

Article 8: Processing and Protection of Personal Data

8.1. The Organizer is the data controller for the personal data of Participants and Winners. Questions may be directed to: marodi@marodi.hr.

8.2. The Organizer collects the following personal data:

(a) For Participants: name/username as used on Facebook/Instagram – for participation.

(b) For Winners: name, address, and phone number – for prize delivery.

(c) For Winners: name/username – for public announcement and transparency.

8.3. The legal basis for data processing (except for 8.2(c)) is the performance of obligations under Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. Providing this data is a condition for participation. The basis for 8.2(c) is the Organizer's legitimate interest in ensuring transparency (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

8.4. Personal data may be shared with:

  • Service providers assisting with contest execution (e.g., marketing agencies, delivery services);

  • Authorities, if required by law.

8.5. Personal data will be processed during the contest and up to 10 business days after its conclusion. After that, the data will be deleted. Data from 8.2(c) may be retained for up to 6 years for record-keeping.

8.6. Participants and Winners have the right to:

  • Access their personal data;

  • Correct inaccurate data;

  • Delete data in certain circumstances;

  • Restrict processing in certain circumstances;

  • File a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (www.azop.hr).

8.7. The Organizer protects personal data using appropriate technical and organizational security measures.

8.9. Since the Contest is held on Facebook and Instagram, their respective privacy policies also apply.

Article 9: Cancellation or Interruption of the Contest

9.1. In case of force majeure, the Organizer may cancel or suspend the Contest and will notify Participants and Winners as soon as possible via the Profile and website.

9.2. In such cases, the Organizer is not liable for any damages incurred by Participants or Winners.

Article 10: Dispute Resolution

10.1. The Organizer's decisions regarding the Contest and interpretation of these Rules are final and binding for all Participants and Winners.

10.2. Any disputes will be settled by the competent court in Zagreb, Croatia.
