Our collection of folk songs has won its third major award!
After great success in Cannes, Marodi and the agency Bruketa&Žinić&Grey have also won a Red Dot award for the project “A Story That Counts.” This award is considered the most sought-after international mark of design quality.
The collection of Međimurje folk songs was named the best of the best, earning the title “Red Dot Best of the Best,” which is awarded to the top winners among all Red Dot recipients who have distinguished themselves with exceptionally high design quality.
Let’s remember, the inspiration for the project “A Story That Counts” came from the fact that in 2018, the Međimurje folk song was included on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, where it will remain protected as long as it is in use.
To contribute to the preservation of the folk songs, a limited edition collection of five books of Međimurje folk songs—“A Story That Counts”—was created, with each book coming with special packaging of Marodi alphabet pasta for soup, containing the exact number of letters that make up the song.
The Red Dot Design Award is a world-renowned competition celebrating the best in product, communication, and design concepts, with the 2024 award ceremony held in Essen, Germany. Check out our project, A Soup to Remember, at this link to see how we at Marodi brought Croatian culture to life through a unique design that preserves traditional folk songs.
